Definitions
Renter: The individual or entity renting the bike.
Company: Queens Bike Share, LLC. the bike rental provider
Bike: The ebike provided to the Renter for use.
Equipment: Any additional accessories whether attached to the Bike including but not limited to helmets, covers, locks, keys etc.
Rental Period
The rental period begins at the start date on the booking and the time as agreed upon by the Renter and the Company OR at the time when the Bike(s) and Equipment is checked out by the Renter. In some scenarios, the Bike(s) and Equipment may be made available to the Renter prior to the date on the reservation such as the night before. The rental period ends at the designated time set by the Company.
Late returns will incur additional charges as specified in the fee schedule. Bike(s) and Equipment that are not returned by the designated end time on the reservation may be considered stolen. The Company will pursue the full extent of the law to recover lost or stolen Bike(s) and Equipment.
Rental Fees
The Renter agrees to pay all applicable fees as per the current fee schedule. A security deposit may be required at the time of rental, which will be refunded upon the return of the bike in good condition.
Use of the Bike(s) and Equipment
The Renter agrees to use the bike in a safe and responsible manner. Renter will not exceed the maximum cargo capacity of each bike. Bikes are designed for paved roads only and not for off-road riding.
Renter agrees to abide by all local traffic laws and regulations while using the rented bicycle and equipment. Minors under the age of 18 should never be permitted to operate the bikes. Passengers should always be supervised when in seats or cargo areas attached to the bicycle.
Condition of the Bike(s) and Equipment
The Bike(s) and Equipment is provided to the Renter in good working condition. The Renter should inspect the bike before use and notify the Company of any defects or issues. The Renter is responsible for returning the bike in the same condition it was received, excluding normal wear and tear.
Release and Waiver:
In addition to these terms, a release waiver must be signed by all Renters prior to using the Bikes(s) and Equipment found at: https://queens-bike-share.checkfront.com/reserve/documents/directory/
Assumption of Risk
Renter is aware that biking involves risks, including but not limited to, the risk of serious injury or death to myself and any occupants. Renter voluntarily assumes all risks associated with the use of the rented Bike(s) and any accompanying Equipment.
Liability
The Renter is responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the bike during the rental period.The Renter assumes all risks associated with the use of the bike and agrees to hold the Company harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the use of the bike.
Insurance
The Company does not provide insurance for the Renter. Any liability or damage insurance coverage is the sole responsibility of the Renter.
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the rental period will receive a full refund. Cancellations of less than 72 hours and more than 24 hours are 50% refundable. Cancellations of less than 24 hours are not refundable. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 24 hours of the rental period or for early returns. If the Bike(s) and Equipment breaks down during the rental period, we will do our best to repair the Bike(s) and Equipment or provide an alternative Bike(s) and Equipment. If we are unable to repair the Bike(s) and Equipment or provide an alternative, we will provide a prorated refund for the remainder of the rental period. We will also provide additional rental time if applicable for any downtime while the Bike(s) and Equipment is being repaired/replaced. Cancellation and refund terms also apply to any security deposit paid.
Maintenance
The Renter must not perform any maintenance or modifications to the Bike(s) and Equipment. Any issues should be reported to the Company.
The following is excluded from this clause:
- Filling air in tires or adjusting air in tires (the Renter is liable for overfilling the tire and causing it to burst)
- Adjusting seat heights
- Adjusting covers such as rain covers, or sun covers
- Rider may remove such covers for use but continue to be liable for damage, theft, or loss
- Removing battery for charging/safe keeping
- Removing display on non-screwed displays
Bike(s) and Equipment Tracking
Bikes and equipment may be equipped with GPS and NFC enabled tracking devices. The Renter should not interfere with or disable these devices.
Schedule for Lost/Damaged Bike(s) Equipment
Renters are advised to remove the battery and detachable display when leaving the Bike unattended. If these items are recovered in the case of damage, theft, or loss, the reimbursement fee would be lower.

Privacy Policy
We collect and use your contact information solely for the purposes of processing and managing your rental booking and for marketing related to our services. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS communications from us regarding your rental booking and related updates. Your information will not be shared with third parties, except when necessary to complete your rental transaction or as required by law. We are committed to ensuring your privacy and protecting your personal data.
Termination of Agreement
The Company reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement at any time if the Renter violates any of the terms and conditions.Upon termination, the Renter must immediately return the bike to the designated location.
Jurisdiction
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New York State. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved in the courts of New York State.
Amendments
The Company reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. The Renter will be notified of any changes that affect their rental agreement.
